Frequently asked questions

Of course! This is the beauty of hiring a custom invitation designer - there are very few limits to what we can create, and the legwork of sorting through options has been taken off your plate. We will work together to narrow down your vision, and I'll present you with a complete vision for your paper goods. See? Stress-free!

It's never too early! Due to the highly personalized nature of this service, the entire process from initial design to mailing your finished invitations takes 8-10 weeks on average.

Save the Dates typically are mailed 9 to 12 months in advance of the wedding date, and Invitations are mailed 6 to 8 weeks prior to the wedding. You'll want to allow yourself plenty of time to track down rogue RSVPs and assign seating arrangements!

After you fill out the custom wedding stationery inquiry form and receive a custom quote, I require a retainer payment of 50% of the estimated total. Then, we begin what very well may be the most fun you’ll have planning your wedding!
All communication is stored in a private, secured online client portal.

Each household should receive one invitation. There are exceptions to this rule, of course -- if two roommates live together and are both invited to the wedding, each roommate should receive their own invitation. The same rule applies to families with children over 18 years of age living at home; adults should all receive their own invitations.

To give a more numbers-based example, a wedding with 150 guests should expect to order between 75-120 invitations. Having a few extras on hand is always encouraged, too!

On average, most couples can expect to spend $2,300 on a quantity of 100 invitation suites with three pieces (invitation + addressed envelope, response card + addressed envelope, and a details card). This includes all artwork, design, and the production of the invitation suite.

All items are available a la carte and are priced by quantity. Postage costs and upgraded printing methods (such as letterpress) will incur additional charges.

The Process

  • Step One

    Design Questionnaire

Once you're booked, you'll receive a design questionnaire to fill out! You'll tell me all about you and your fiance - how you met, what you love about each other, your favorite activities, your pets, etc. - as well as all the details about your wedding.

  • Step Two

    Sketch Concepts

After you've submitted your questionnaire, you'll receive a rough sketch concept of your stationery design. Once we've settled on all the details of the artwork after any necessary revision rounds, it's time to paint!

  • Step Three

    Proofs and Printing

Here’s the most fun part - you get to see the first look of your invitation suite! I will send along digital proofs for your approval, and once you’ve signed off, you get to sit back and relax while I send all the files off to the printer. For a truly hands-off process, you can also add assembly and mailing services to your package -- cross off one more item on your never-ending to-do list!

  • Step Four

    Celebrate!

The RSVPs will roll in, and you're on your way to the best celebration ever! Want to keep the theme of your paper goods cohesive throughout your wedding day? We can work together to design those pieces, too!
